I'm getting better!!! It hasn't been 2 years since I last entered a "blog". Teehee

That Disneyland Paris trip we took with our precious granddaughter and her parents was soooooooo much fun. A lot has happened since then....a lot!!! Anyway, about Disneyland...Esmee wasn't afraid of any of the characters and she just loved everything there. She still says she wants to go back. Our son and his wife are talking about going to Calif with us and then we could visit Disneyland if and when they come. I'm from California and I've only been here 5 years with my new Dutch family. I have 3 wonderful American kids in Calif..as well as a Mom, brother and sister and their families.

My Dad passed away in March....Easter day. That's one of the things I was referring to when I said so much had happened. The Lord blessed me with 10 wonderful, yet emotionally and physically draining, days with him before he left his earthly home. I had been having some health issues and I needed to get some reports before I was able to fly home....Praise God!!! They were good reports so I postponed the last test to be done and flew home. Then about 6 weeks later my daughter was married. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions...sad time, happy time!!! But God was ever His wonderful Self and gave comfort and joy though it all. Yes, indeed, I do praise Him.

We've bought a house here in the Netherlands. It's an adjustment trying to "downsize" but as we get older we really don't need all the stuff we acquire. The truth is we don't "need" it when we're younger but our thinking is that we do....another teehee. I have wanted a home with an upstairs my whole adult life. Now that I'm getting old and "creaky", I have one....lol There is no restroom upstairs so one has to go downstairs in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I have a strong bladder and usually make it all the way through the night. Hubby is a little different, tho. He has to make a trip down the stairs in the darkened night (dramatic, huh???). Ok..ok...I should say "usually" he has to make a trip........etc.

Well, I should get my day started. I need to go read my scripture...well, I actually listen to it online. Technology really is something!!! I hope God blesses you with a wonderful day. Remember to give Him thanx (I know, habit) in all circumstances. If you are able to thank Him through the hard times, imagine the joy and happiness of thanking Him through the good times. He is with us no matter what the circumstances.....so always be thankful (He didn't say "for the circumstance" just "through the circumstance")!!!

Until next time.........Luv Ya Bye!!!

Well....never let it be said that I do anything in a timely manner. Talk about an understatement!!! I think my last blog entry was in October 2002. Okay, okay...I'm a little slow. A lot of things have happened since then. I'm still in the Netherlands...that stayed the same. The grandbaby we were eagerly awaiting the last time I entered a blog is here and she is such a joy!!! I really love this "Gramma" stuff!!!

Esmee, our granddaughter, her parents and we are going to EuroDisney next month. I can't wait!!! I want to watch every expression on that sweet little face. It's never to early to introduce little ones to Disney so we can have another Disney freak in the family. Can you tell I love Disney???

I'm going to quit writing for now. I don't want to shock you too much that I'm "blogging"...lol I need to get back into this slowly....after all, it may be another 2 years and 3 months before you hear from me again. Let's hope not!!! (Philippians 4:13)

Luvyabye Well, I have to admit, I'm not very good at this blogging...lol But I have to admit I haven't focused very strongly on it. Perhaps I'll try again. I guess I need to look at it as a diary entry....I've never kept a diary so therein lies the problem. Ok, this is it for now.....Luv Ya Bye!!!

Not much news today. I didn't write yesterday because there wasn't anything unusual going on then, either. We're still waiting for "our" grandbaby. If we're eager for that baby to arrive, one can imagine how our son and daughter in law must be feeling. Babies have a way of coming when they're ready.....must be too comfortable still...lol

We had a funny experience in class today. Oops!!! Let's back up a bit. I'm taking Dutch classes because I'm living in the Netherlands. I'm from the USA and I've been here over 2 years. I won't bore you with the long story of how I really did try to start these classes in the year 2000 (well, at least I won't bore you for now). Anyway, I married my sweet adorable hubby in 2000.....and you guessed it!!! He's Dutch!!! So, here I am! Now we can go back to the class. I have 3 different teachers for the time being. André was teaching the class today. We were learning the different vegetables and their names here in Holland. Then André would ask how to cook this or that. One lady said that you could "bakken" (aka: fry) "bloemkool" (cauliflower). André said that you have to cook it in water. Then, of course, I jumped in and said that "bloemkool" could indeed be fried in a pan with oil, butter and garlic powder. He kept wrinkling his nose and saying "no"!!! I finally said, "I cook"!!! He laughed then went on to Spinach. I said that could also be done in hot oil with bits of bacon....he said it had to be cooked in water.....no, I insist, it can be done other ways. Then we get to artichokes.....and he asked me how "we" cook that.........I said "in water" !!! LOLOL He just acted like he was wiping sweat away from his brow........."eindelijk"!!! (finally.......something I cook in water....LOL) Okay, so it's not as funny on paper......but trust me, it was funny in the classroom.

Enough boring stories for one day!!! (Jeremiah 29:11)

Today is my sweet hubby's birthday......now he's caught up with me in age. Well, at least until next March and then I become "the older woman" again. I believe he has had a very nice day....I know that I sure did! Our two sons (I call them my "Dutch" sons....I didn't give birth to them but I love them as if I had.), our daughter in law (quite expectant at the moment...actually a whole week overdue with "our" first grandchild......oh!!!! is it "their" first child??? hmmmm there I go, thinking of myself again..tee hee) and Dolf's parents came to celebrate with us. I made some pecan bars (that are like a pecan pie....but a bar) from a recipe that my Mom sent to me. I guess it's a sign of success when the kids want to take some home with them. Oh joy!!!! I love it when things go well.

Well, as you have probably guessed, I'm new at this "blog" thing. One of the boys, the new daddy to be, set this up for me today while he was here. Pretty neat young man, wouldn't you say (he'll be reading this so I have to say nice things.....okay, okay.........so I really mean it, too!!!)??? So, this is going to be a fairly short entry. Then again, perhaps it's a long entry in to some people's thinking. Anyway, may the Lord bless you and keep you (Numbers 6:24-26...my favorite blessing from the Bible).
